The roads network is stretched to 8000 Kilometre. On 25th January 2005, the king of Bhutan and the prime minister of India conducted a feasibility study for rail links. Proposed rail plan included Hasimara to Phuentsholing, with a branch to Pasaka; Kokrajhar to Gelephu; Pathsala to Naglam; Rangia via Darranga to Samdrup Jongkhar and Banarhat to Samtse.
The king of Bhutan approved the final plan to build an 18 Kilometre long rail route in December 2009. The rail link is Indian Broad Gauge wide between Hashimara in West Bengal and Toribari in Bhutan. Soon, the rail network will be constructed via Satali, Bharna Bari and Dalsingpara by Indian Railways.
